If you’re prepared to do important web site design work or photo editing, there is absolutely no more respected application than Adobe Photoshop. It is frequently mentioned in graphic design circles that Photoshop is the prime option for serious graphical design and editing. There are umpteen other packages available that can perform many of the same functions, but Photoshop by itself puts it all together in a software program that is suited for serious professional purposes.
