Fortunately, the internet has a wealth of resources for such information. A quick query shows that Bacon is merely cured meat that is prepared from certain parts of a pig. There are several types of bacon which come from different sections of the pig (its belly, its side, its loins, its shoulder and even its cheeks). Additionally, there are countless methods of preparing it: it can be boiled, baked, smoked, grilled, fried, used as a additive in a salad and in numerous other methods. Indeed, bacon can most definitely be microwaved (i.e. using a microwave bacon cooker), and this is an action we can do ourselves.
Because Bacon is prepared from pork (though in certain countries, non-pork based bacon-like foods are also called bacon, which is in my honest opinion simply does not count), is actually forbidden for consumption for followers of Judaism and Islam. Judaism considers pigs as ‘dirty’ or ‘tainted’ creatures and as such, all meats made from their flesh are prohibited.
